I really stink as a blogger, letting all of you rockabilly fans go
alone without something. So here's a taste of some other rockabilly
music from another label so much like Buffalo Bop.They raid the
vaults, and give you 35 tracks! Yow! And when I find more of these I'll
sure post 'em. (as long as I'm not hurtin' anyone's feelings)
Look at the cover of this release, and who do you see? Look at those
three guys leaning on that car! Scotty Moore,Bill Black who largely
run this label, and play on many of the tracks...and....
who's in the middle, but Elvis. That should tell you what you're going
to get, some rockabilly music from the Fernwood label and the
Memphis area. Oh, sure some of the bands might be from across
the state line, or a state or two over, but largely your getting music
that was 1956 Memphis in it's rockabilly heyday buzzing days.
Some of the bands released tracks as late as
1965, but they didn't know what year it was, and they must
have been living in a bomb shelter,or never wanted to know Beatlemania
took over. Shh,don't tell them, otherwise you'd never hear this great stuff.
Link in the you know where.

Great one. My favorite is Thomas Wayne's "You're The One That Done it". Great guitar work from Scotty Moore! Keep on the good work,
cheers
Many thanks for this very good post...
Sexy is so un-sexy with your idiot remarks, that no one can read. Why bother making a comment then?
What a wasted opportunity when the greatest Fernwood single was missed out in spite of THREE volumes
KELLY SIMS (A girl in love/Bewitched by love) was one of 3 Memphis girls who sand bvs on Thomas Wayne's Tragedy then made this disc a few months later of somgs written by Burch/Nelson.
As Wayne never made an album-its all down to a compilation which could include Kelly Sims and the Sun remakes and the Gerald Nelson demo of Tragedy
I've had some computer problems including a nasty virus take out two terabytes of things. So I'm going to be gone for a little while yet. Please don't give up on me. I'm still here, but I am slowly coming back. As I continue wiping hard drives,I'm sure I'll find more rockabilly I forgot to share with you fine folks.
Be patient.
