The cover of Rockabilly Party looks more like a hillbilly strip
club scene, a bad scene from Deliverance or something of that nature.
One of those fellows has a Molotov cocktail in the back round, okay.
I'm confused. But the music inside is all pure original 1950's rockabilly
various artists and it's a good one. It's a theme of miscellaneous songs
and themes: Little Red Caboose, Lonesome Old Jail, Waitin' For A Train,
Bubble Gum Boogie, I'm Being Haunted, Way Up Alaska Way,
Sleepy Time Blues,Rockin' Through The Tunnel Of Love, Have Myself
A Ball, All Messed Up and Married Life Blues.Something I'm sure
many of us can all relate to..Look for the links in the comments sections.
Oh,this cover on Rock-A-Billy Barnyard is priceless isn't it? If you had a big red Cadillac in the yard , how come you can't afford that uppity indoor plumbing? And yeah, I've worn those ginghamchecked dresses while doing the chores...but I'd probably turn aroundand yell at those guys to help me tote my bucket, you lazy mules! Well, 30 more fabulous rockabilly rock songs from the 1950's.The theme should be chickens, horsies, and cows, but it isn't. Only one song about chickens, but the rest are all top flight rockabilly styled music just like all of the other volumes. The stand out songs here are: On The Warpath, Tall Oak Tree, Born Unlucky, Barnyard Rock n' Roll, If You Don't Like My Apples (great title) and The Dirty Bird Song (You Can't Hardly Get Them No More).Entertaining volume of rock and roll. It's all from the original vinyl singles!Link in the comments section, you hillbillies.
Sugaree is a sweet volume of cool rockin' tracks: here's my list of favorites: Raw Deal, Froggy Went A Courting, Red Skin Rock, She's Just That Kind, Two Timer,Smooth Operator, Stop Your Knockin', The Pigeon, Waitin' For You To Call, and If You Can't Rock Me. No crap here, all toe tappin' fun. 30 more tracks, please read the post under Alley Cat, I've gotsome other Buffalo Bops and Dee Jay Jamborees with the soundsof Doo Wop,and I'm not sure you folks will dig that music. It's not my favorite type of music, but hey, maybe you want me to post that ? Thanks, and link information is in the comments section.(from now on).
Knock out is a knock out to be sure! What is really cool on this particular volume is MORE VINTAGE Rockabilly, plus the original version of Rollin' Danny by Ron Haydock. To the folks who love punk and newer UK rock music, (just like me)The Fall did an excellent version of Rollin' Danny. So I encourage you to check out the original version of the track. It's wonderful. Mark E. Smith does a fine job! The other highlighted tracks on this volume include: Boppin' Bug, Tuscaloosa Lucy, Sweetie Pie, Don't Just Stand There!,You're A Tiger, Let's All Go Wild Tonight, and Bucket Full Of Tears.30 more tracks! It's all right here daddy-o. http://rapidshare.com/files/167136430/Buffalo_Bop_-_55175_-_Knock_Out.rar.html
Hey hipsters and cowgirls, yet more volumes of this fabulous series of Buffalo Bops! This is yet another one with a theme and the theme is trains. I would say this volume is largely country western rockabilly sounding, but still really a fun ride without a doubt. There's 2 versions of Mystery Train, along with some other cool tracks: That Long Black Train, Goodbye Train, Folsom Prison Blues, Train Whistle Blues,One Way Track, Hey Mr. Porter, Kansas City Train, and naturally, the title track Tommy Nolan doing "Hobo Bop"This is a cool volume, and contains 30 tracks. I think you'reall going to love it like I do. http://rapidshare.com/files/164878093/Buffalo_Bop_-_55012_-_Hobo_Bop.rar.html
Guess what the theme is here? Drinking songs! Yee ha! Yet another 30 tracks of primo 1950's rockabilly rock and one of the best of this series.Greats songs: Pink Elephants, Moonshine Still, Beer Drinking Daddy, Root Beer by the fabulousLaw Brothers, and the title track Rhythm And Booze, Beer Drinking Blues, Moonshine, Suds, Save Me The Label, and yet another winner; Three Aces And A Joker doing Booze Party. 'Nuff Said! Get this one! http://rapidshare.com/files/164876315/Buffalo_Bop_-_55073_-_Rhythm___Booze.rar.html
Oh, what a cover -she's just being coy, not stuck up! And how many juvenile delinquents would be caught dead near a barbershop? And beating someone up? I think they'd be working on their jalopies, and just hanging out, not popping some guy in the face. Oh well, more rockabilly action kittens and cats. My favorites are the obvious wacky songs like: Lovey Dovey, Preacher Man, Rolly Polly, Griddle Greasin' Daddy,Meet Me In St. Louis, Louis!, Stella Got A Fella, and the ever popular Let Me Play With Your Poodle. (what a strange title) Again, all of the fabulous 50's sounds, without cleaning up the fidelity too much. Mastered from the original 45's, so it's the way those kids heard them back then. These discs really capture that innocent early rock 'n roll time period. http://rapidshare.com/files/156830587/Buffalo_Bop_-_55176_-_Stuck_Up.rar.html
This one's a doozie, and it's pretty wild! I dig the front cover! I love the music and great song titles: Switchblade Sam, Hot Lips Baby, Gone Baby Gone, Let's Paint The Town Red, Darn Dem Bones! Slippery Sal, So Wild, and Juvenile Delinquent! I'm sure, this is one of the strongest volumes, with the most fun songs. All tracks from the original 1950's singles, and most songs clock in at about 2 minutes 10 seconds flat. And nearly all of these volumes have 30 tracks each, and it's worth hearing each and every song. Thanks for your comments, and it's fun to make these available to everyone who's a music fanatic, as I am.There's more of these coming! http://rapidshare.com/files/153152647/Buffalo_Bop_-_55036_-_Juvenile_Jungle.rar.html
Flip Flip really has no theme other than way cool FUN rockabilly! All various artists, all vintage 1950's rockabilly rock, and it's really very addictive music! Lotsa songs sung by boys about girls. The usual thang! Cool titles include: Bop Hop, Crazy Alligator, Rockin' Chair Twist, Little Heart Attacks, Sharin' Lockers, and The Gulf Coast Twist. Get 'em all, daddy-o. http://rapidshare.com/files/151308823/Buffalo_Bop_55170__Flip_Flip.rar.html
There's a large series of discs of rockabilly music that shouldalways be heard, and collected, and that's the Buffalo Bop series. These discs capture the real essence of that music largely from the 1950's, and usually are collected via the original singles/45's. That's where the best sound comes from, and that's the way theserecords were heard. And that's how they are presented here. Each disc contains roughly 30 tracks or so,and they are generally all really fun to listen to.You start listening to one,and you want more. Sorta like potato chips, you start eating a couple, and before you know it,you ate the whole bag.But listening to these won't put on the calories, I assure you. Well, I know this site features mostly garage rock, and weirdos, but this rockabilly fits right in perfectly. With songs titles like Cut Me Up,Teenage Hop,Go Ask Your Mama,Fire Engine Baby, and Snaggle Tooth Ann, I hope you think this is cool, cause I do.These are very catchy compilations. So I'm going to serve up as many as I can find! Ooh, delicious. More to come! Dig the teenage juvenile delinquent themed covers! Today I saw a car bumper sticker and it read-"I'd Rather Be Blogging". Sounds good to me. http://rapidshare.com/files/145558924/Buffalo_Bop_55079_Teen-Age_Mafia.rar.html
